Here are the questions I have after a fine weekend (and a weekday) of racing in Formula One and NASCAR…

What is the mood in Honda’s boardroom after the Formula One team in which they invested hundreds of millions of dollars gets a one-two finish only weeks after becoming known as Brawn Grand Prix?

How happy must Sir Richard Branson and the Virgin companies be after they announced their sponsorship one hour before the Brawn team qualified one-two and a day before they replicated that result in the race?

How many teams will mirror Brawn’s decision last year to scrap the current season’s developments in the interest of designing what appears to be a world-beating car the following year?

Brawn won the race but also announced a large lay-off of staff, so can they maintain their advantage when titans like Ferrari, McLaren and BMW pour cubic dollars into development and new diffusers for each race?

Doesn’t it seem Jenson Button has been around for two decades rather than just one?

How can Formula One top the Aussie opener?

Is there a better argument for NASCAR to add more short tracks to the schedule than Sunday’s Martinsville race? (It was the most entertaining Cup race of the year – by far.)

How many times have we seen the movie where the 48 car starts the race in less than ideal condition, gets expert massaging by Chad Knaus and crew and then Jimmie Johnson makes some sort of Superman move at the end of the race to secure the victory?

Is there any question the 48 team has the best crew chief and the best driver right now?

Shouldn’t AJ Allmendinger have a full-time sponsor and ride if there’s any justice in this sport?

Is an eighth-place finish good enough to take the media and talk radio heat off of Tony Eury Jr?

Did Kyle Busch really crawl out of his truck, run down pit lane and then climb over the outside wall on his way to his motorhome after the truck race? (Yes, definitely as I watched him up close…)

Will the Indy Racing League put on an equally exciting show this weekend on the streets of St. Petersburg, FL?
