“Who is this goofus, and why is he writing a weekly column for SPEEDtv.com?”
Some may recognize my name from the two New York Times Best-Sellers I’ve been lucky enough to write. Some may know me as the owner of fingerprint, inc., a sports publicity firm. Others may recognize my face as the poor-man’s bodyguard/rich-man’s publicist with Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Budweiser for nine seasons. Perhaps you’ve stumbled across my blog, the first ‘insiders’ blog in the NASCAR world going back to the ancient days of 2004.
It’s been nearly two decades of professional experience providing publicity and/or marketing for race teams, drivers, sponsors, manufacturers, and racetracks. Those eclectic positions have dipped me into racing’s steaming bowl of alphabet soup, including AMA, ASA, ARCA, CART, DTM/ITC, F1, NHRA, IMSA, NASCAR, Powerboat P1, SCCA and a few more I’ve certainly forgotten.
First and foremost, I’m a passionate fan of motorsports and of all things fast and loud on dirt, asphalt and occasionally water. SPEEDtv.com is the perfect match with the best motoring variety of any site anywhere. I’m excited to be a part of a team comprised of people I admire, including Varsha, Despain, Miller and Vida Guerra. (Well, ok…

What can you expect here? Hopefully, the unexpected. Once a week, we’ll pull another thread from racing’s rich tapestry, drawing back the curtains on the dusty corners of the sport. I’ll try to make it unique, thought provoking and, most of all, entertaining.
Your role? ‘E’ me your requests, comments (civilized, please) and your “I’ve always wondered…” queries. I’ll do my best to provide some fine infotainment for mouse-potatoes around the globe.
