His team might not have been quite as dominant as it had been in years past, but when it came time to decide who was No. 1, Jimmie Johnson left no doubt.

Johnson’s title-clinching runnerup finish in today's Ford 400, along with a second consecutive victory by Roush Fenway Racing’s Carl Edwards, elevated those two to the top of this week’s list of winners as the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series 2010 season came to a close.

WINNERS

Jimmie Johnson – Down by 15 points going into the final race, the Hendrick Motorsports driver overcame early slow stops on pit road to capture his record-setting fifth consecutive NASCAR Sprint Cup Series title.

Carl Edwards
– The Roush Fenway Racing driver won back-to-back Cup races with a dominating performance to end the year and show that the No. 99 team is back on track.

Aric Almirola – In his last start as an interim driver for Richard Petty Motorsports, Almirola scored a career-best fourth-place finish.

Kasey Kahne – Getting a head start with the No. 83 team for 2011 looks pretty smart now. Kahne sat on the pole and finished sixth, his best result in five starts with Red Bull Racing.

Ryan Newman – Another top-10 finish to end the season solidified the Stewart-Haas Racing driver’s hold on 15th in the point standings.

Matt Kenseth – Much like Edwards, Kenseth’s Roush Fenway team has shown much improvement of late. Closed the season with three top-10 finishes.

Martin Truex Jr. – Rebounded from a flat tire to finish 11th. His Michael Waltrip Racing Toyota was stout all day, leading six times for 62 laps.

AJ Allmendinger – Nearly matched his season-best finish of fourth, but fifth was another step in the right direction for the Richard Petty Motorsports driver.
