If becoming co-owner, driver and front man for a NASCAR Sprint Cup team is a daunting task, you wouldn’t know by looking at Tony Stewart.

The two-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion and newly minted co-owner of the team now known as Stewart-Haas Motorsports, seemed remarkably relaxed and confident on Wednesday, when he and four of his key team members met with media participating in the annual Sprint Media Tour Presented by Lowe’s Motor Speedway.

Stewart said the team has come together in short order, although everyone had a steep learning curve in getting used to each to working alongside new team members.

“It's been a lot of getting used to working with new people, and trying to get to know new people,” said Stewart, who spent 10 years driving for Joe Gibbs Racing before moving to the former Haas CNC Racing team as co-owner. “So it's been a big adjustment, but it's probably been the most fun off season I've ever had. I've really enjoyed being here, we've got a great group of guys. A lot of them that were here when we started this operation, and we just added people. So we've got a great group of guys that I'm excited about. And a very fun group of guys, so I know we're going to have a good time this year.”

Stewart will drive the team’s No. 14 Chevrolet Impala SS, with sponsorship from Office Depot and Old Spice, with Burger King serving as a primary sponsor for two races. Former Hendrick Motorsports engineer Darian Grubb will be Stewart’s crew chief.

The team’s other car, the No. 39 Chevrolet, will be driven by Ryan Newman, with Mark Martin’s former crew chief, Tony Gibson, atop the pit box and the U.S. Army sponsoring 23 races. Longtime Richard Childress Racing executive Bobby Hutchens is overseeing both SHR cars in his role as competition director. The new team has a engine-lease deal with Hendrick Motorsports and does not anticipate adding a third car in the near future.
