SPEED TOASTS 2012 SEASON WITH LIVE COVERAGE OF NASCAR SPRINT CUP AWARDS CEREMONY

NASCAR RACE HUB, SOCIAL RED-CARPET COVERAGE FROM VEGAS, CROWNING OF SERIES CHAMPIONS HIGHLIGHT CHAMPION’S WEEK COVERAGE

Talk of mind games, points-as-they-run, the obligatory hat dance and celebratory champagne shower (and beer guzzling) at Homestead-Miami Speedway are complete. Brad Keselowski will be honored as the 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion at the NASCAR Sprint Cup Awards Ceremony from Las Vegas, offering the carefree driver yet another opportunity to show the world his fun-loving side.

SPEED offers live coverage of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Awards Ceremony from the Wynn Las Vegas Nov. 30 at 8 p.m. ET as part of its weeklong coverage of NASCAR Champion’s Week celebrating Keselowski and the rest of the drivers in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.

The evening’s coverage begins with a live, one-hour special edition of NASCAR Race Hub at 7 p.m. ET, hosted by Steve Byrnes with Kaitlyn Vincie and Rutledge Wood covering red-carpet arrivals from Las Vegas. Danielle Trotta hosts the network’s coverage of the Awards Ceremony, while NASCAR on FOX and SPEED’s Mike Joy and Krista Voda handle hosting duties inside the ballroom for the event. Superstar comedian, actor, producer and talent judge Howie Mandel hosts the ceremonies with musical performances by Train, Lifehouse, Natasha Bedingfield and Phillip Phillips, along with a performance by the cast of The Beatles LOVE.

“SPEED has been right there with the drivers and teams every step of the way this season, and we’ve gotten to know these guys and their personalities pretty well,” said SPEED President Scott Ackerson. “Although the business of the championship was decided at Homestead, expect the fun and laughs to continue through the banquet. With bigger-than-life personalities like Brad Keselowski and Clint Bowyer’s, tuning in for the driver speeches alone could be worth the price of admission.”

The NASCAR Nationwide Series/NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Awards Ceremony airs Nov. 29 at 8 p.m. ET on SPEED. The banquet, hosted by SPEED’s Rick Allen and Voda from the Loews Miami Beach Hotel and featuring a musical performance by NEEDTOBREATHE, honors Turner Motorsports driver James Buescher as the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series champion and Roush Fenway Racing’s Ricky Stenhouse Jr. as the repeat, two-time Nationwide Series champion. Joe Gibbs Racing's No. 18 Nationwide Series team will be feted as winners of the season’s owner’s championship.

Social media will play an integral role in SPEED’s coverage of this year’s Cup Series Awards Ceremony. Vincie and Wood provide behind-the-scenes looks at all events and activities surrounding Champion’s Week, including social reports (@NASCARonSPEED and http://www.facebook.com/nascaronspeed) from the red carpet and the Sprint Lounge prior to and during the Awards Ceremony. .

NASCAR Race Hub (Monday through Thursday at 6 p.m. ET) opens NASCAR Champion’s Week Nov. 26 with special weeklong coverage from locations throughout Las Vegas. Highlighting Hub coverage are the NASCAR National Motorsports Press Association Myers Brothers Awards Luncheon, during which drivers and teams collect year-end awards and accolades; the unveiling of the Chevrolet SS race car for 2013 Cup Series competition; NASCAR Victory Lap, during which the 12 Chase drivers parade their race cars down the Las Vegas Strip; and NASCAR After The Lap, an anything-goes Q&A session between fans and the 12 Chase drivers.

Following Champion’s Week, the NASCAR on SPEED crew recharges its batteries for a few weeks before heading to Daytona International Speedway Jan. 10-12 for live coverage of the 2013 Daytona Preseason Thunder testing session, including nightly highlight programs and live streaming on SPEED.com.
