Kyle Busch’s dream season continued Sunday at Dover International Speedway, where he won his fourth NASCAR Sprint Cup race of the season, roundly trouncing the field in the Best Buy 400 benefiting Student Clubs for Autism Speaks.

Busch, who has led the Sprint Cup points for most of the season, took the lead at Lap 237 of the 400-lap race, thanks to an excellent pit stop from his Joe Gibbs Racing crew.

And once Busch got his Toyota out front, he was in a class by himself, as he ran away from the Roush Fenway Racing Fords of Carl Edwards, Greg Biffle and Matt Kenseth to win by 4.225 seconds. Jeff Gordon completed the top five in his Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet. Martin Truex Jr. finished sixth, his Dale Earnhardt Inc. Chevy the last car on the lead lap.

With his four NASCAR Nationwide Series victories and two wins in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, Busch has now won a phenomenal 10 races in NASCAR’s top three series, as he clearly has been in a universe his competitors have been unable to approach.

And as has been the case so often this season, passing the leader proved to be a difficult chore on this warm Sunday at the Monster Mile.
Pole-sitter Biffle took the lead at the start, as Kurt Busch went wide in Turn 2 and nearly struck the wall on the opening lap. Johnson quickly took second ahead of Kyle Busch, Jeff Gordon and Kurt Busch, with Biffle’s lead 2.072 seconds by Lap 10.

The first big wreck came on Lap 18, when Elliott Sadler and Tony Stewart tangled, triggering an 11-car pile-up that eliminated a number of top contenders. (See related story). Biffle held onto the lead after the race was red-flagged and the leaders pitted for the first time.

At 50 laps, Biffle led Kyle Busch by 2.129 seconds, with Kurt Busch third, then Carl Edwards, Ryan Newman, Jimmie Johnson, Brian Vickers, Matt Kenseth, Jeff Gordon and Jamie McMurray.
