Former Formula 1 driver Scott Speed hopes to make his NASCAR Sprint Cup debut before the 2008 season is over.
In an interview to Autosport magazine, the Californian revealed that he will test a Red Bull Racing Sprint Cup Toyota Camry later this month. Speed also said that his main focus will be racing full-time in the Craftsman Truck Series next year, pairing that
"I'm about to start testing, proper testing, in a Cup car with Brian Vickers," Speed said. "The car is quite a bit different from the Truck, but if it goes well, and I think I should be able to adapt, then we can go racing."
Speed is racing in ARCA and Trucks this season, having won one race on each series.
