Although 2009 has been a somewhat disappointing year for Roush Fenway Racing, the team should be all smiles this weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Homestead, of course, plays host to Ford Championship Weekend, the culmination of a long year of NASCAR racing. Truth is, most of the championship drama has long since been settled: Ron Hornaday Jr. already has clinched the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series championship and Kyle Busch will take the NASCAR Nationwide Series title just by starting Saturday’s race.

On Sunday, Jimmie Johnson can clinch an unprecedented fourth consecutive NASCAR Sprint Cup championship if he finishes 25th or better, or 27th with at least one lap led, or 28th and leads the most laps – regardless of how second-place Mark Martin finishes.

But in terms of Sunday’s Ford 400 Cup race, the favored team for once isn’t Hendrick Motorsports, which has never won at the 1.5-mile track. Instead, Roush Fenway rules here, having won the last five Homestead races and six of the last seven.

Here’s how the 12 drivers in the Chase for the Sprint Cup stack up heading into the final race of the season:

1. Jimmie Johnson, No. 48 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet
2009 rundown:

• Seven wins, 15 top fives, 23 top 10s; three poles
• Average finish of 11.3
• Led 28 races for 2,210 laps
Homestead-Miami Speedway outlook:
• Two top fives, five top 10s; one pole
• Average finish of 13.6 in eight races

2. Mark Martin, No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet
2009 rundown:

• Five wins, 14 top fives, 21 top 10s; seven poles
• Average finish of 13.7
• Led 23 races for 805 laps
Homestead-Miami Speedway outlook:
• Four top fives, five top 10s
• Average finish of 12.0 in nine races
