Coming off a couple of rough weekends, Hendrick Motorsports’ Jeff Gordon is focused on getting back on track in Saturday night’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Crown Royal/Russ Friedman 400 at Richmond International Raceway.

Gordon, who before the last two races held a comfortable lead in the Cup points standings, now finds himself in second – five points behind Penske Racing’s Kurt Busch – after finishes of 25th and 37th in the most recent events.

Will Gordon rebound at Richmond, a place where the California native has two wins, five poles, 12 top-fives and 20 top-10s in 32 starts?

That remains to be seen, of course, but at least one matter is already certain: Gordon is a fan of racing at the .75-mile oval.

“I think everybody loves Richmond,” the four-time Cup champion said. “Any time you go to a track that has multiple racing grooves, it’s something that all drivers are going to like.

“And I think it’s a great show for the fans because there’s a lot going on and a lot of action. It’s typical short-track racing, but there’s multiple grooves.”
