CUP: Richard Childress Racing Duo Paces Final Practice At Homestead

Richard Childress Racing's Jeff Burton and teammate Kevin Harvick rolled to the top of the speed chart in Saturday's final practice session in preparation for Sunday's NASCAR Sprint Cup Ford 400 season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Burton paced the field with a speed of 165.736 mph, while Harvick clocked in second at 165.375 mph.

Hendrick Motorsports' Mark Martin, who is second in the 12-driver Chase For The Sprint Cup field, was third fastest. Rounding out the top five were Martin Truex Jr. (Earnhardt Ganassi Racing) and Ryan Newman (Stewart-Haas Racing), who is ninth in the standings.

Sixth was Joey Logano (Joe Gibbs Racing) and seventh was points leader Jimmie Johnson (Hendrick Motorsports). Eighth through 10th were Casey Mears (RCR), Brad Keselowski (Penske Racing) and Denny Hamlin (JGR), who is eighth in the series standings.

Other Chase drivers: Kurt Busch (Penske Racing) was 11th, Tony Stewart (Stewart-Haas) was 13th, Jeff Gordon (Hendrick) was 15th, Greg Biffle (Roush Fenway Racing) was 17th, Kasey Kahne (Richard Petty Motorsports) was 22nd, Juan Pablo Montoya (Earnhardt Ganassi) was 26th, Brian Vickers (Red Bull Racing) was 29th and Carl Edwards (Roush Fenway) was 31st.

There were no incidents.

Sunday's race starts at 3:15 p.m. EST and will be televised on ABC.
