CUP: Reutimann Leads Morning Practice At Texas

Michael Waltrip Racing's David Reutimann was fastest in the morning practice Saturday in preparation for Sunday's NASCAR Sprint Cup Dickies 500 at Texas Motor Speedway.

Reutimann turned a lap of 186.812 mph, while Chase For The Sprint Cup driver Tony Stewart (Stewart-Haas Racing) was second with a speed of 186.716 mph.

Rounding out the top five were Juan Pablo Montoya (Earnhardt Ganassi Racing), Kyle Busch (Joe Gibbs Racing) and Kurt Busch (Penske Racing). Both Montoya and Kurt Busch are in the 12-driver Chase field.

Sixth through 10th in speed were Kasey Kahne (Richard Petty Motorsports), Denny Hamlin (JGR), Matt Kenseth (Roush Fenway Racing), Mark Martin and Jimmie Johnson (both Hendrick Motorsports).

Kenseth, Reutimann and Kyle Busch were the only drivers among the top 10 not in the Chase.

Other Chase drivers: Jeff Gordon (Hendrick Motorsports) was 11th, Greg Biffle (Roush Fenway) was 13th, Carl Edwards (Roush Fenway) was 16th, Ryan Newman (Stewart-Haas Racing) was 20th, and Brian Vickers (Red Bull Racing) was 23rd.

Robby Gordon Motorsports owner/driver Robby Gordon and John Andretti (Front Row Motorsports) both blew engines in the practice session.
