STEWART A COLLECTOR, TOO — Tony Stewart wears many hats – race driver, team owner, track promoter, entrepreneur. Turns out the two-time NASCAR Sprint Cup champion is big into another type of headwear: race helmets.

“I’ve probably now got around somewhere from 70 to 75,” Stewart said of his helmet collection. “Some of them are helmets that I’ve traded with people but I’ve just bought individual collections through the years since I started in 1999. The first helmet that I traded in the Cup Series was with Elliott Sadler who I was running for rookie of the year with. Every year I trade helmets with drivers in the series and the collection just keeps growing. One day we’ll have a nice place to display them all to everybody but right now a lot of them are in boxes but one day we know we’ll have some place nice we can let everybody enjoy them.”

RACIN’ AND WRASSLIN’ — Joe Gibbs Racing teammates Kyle Busch and Joey Logano will be celebrity guest hosts of the “Monday Night Raw” professional wrestling show, which takes place Oct. 26 at 9 p.m. at HSBC Arena in Buffalo, N.Y. The two will also drive wrestling-themed special paint schemes at Texas Motor Speedway Nov. 7.

A FORD IN HIS FUTURE — With the planned merger of Richard Petty Motorsports and Yates Racing still in progress, Elliott Sadler will drive an RPM Ford for the first time next week at Talladega, with the team’s other three cars remaining as Dodges.
