EDITOR'S NOTE: Watch a special Monday morning edition of NASCAR RaceDay on SPEED at 11 am ET and tune-in at 8 pm ET for NASCAR Victory Lane on SPEED!

Under the best of circumstances, the NASCAR Sprint Cup season is a grind for drivers, crew chiefs, team members, NASCAR officials and a small army of support workers who travel with the series week to week.

With 38 races in 42 weekends and tracks spread from New England to the Florida Keys and Northern California, the travel necessary to be a part of NASCAR’s top series places strenuous demands on everyone involved.

Rain only exacerbates the problems.

Last weekend, it was the Sunoco Red Cross Pennsylvania 500 at Pocono Raceway that got rained out and postponed until Monday. This weekend, it’s the Heluva Good! Sour Cream Dips at The Glen that got washed away, with steady rain falling around the Watkins Glen International road course in the Finger Lakes region of New York state.

The extra days at the track, especially with the short turnaround times means the crews will have an even tougher time as they get ready to race next weekend in Michigan.

Be that as it may, 43 cars will line up Monday at noon to contest the battle at the Glen.

SPEED will host a special edition of NASCAR RaceDay live from Watkins Glen from 11 a.m.-noon ET on Monday, with NASCAR Victory Lane from 8-9 p.m. There will be no This Week in NASCAR on Monday.
