Yates was one of the sport’s top engine builders before he became a car owner. Robert Yates Racing won 57 Cup races, three Daytona 500s and the 1999 Cup championship.

Wallace won 55 races and the 1989 Cup title after moving South following a successful short-track career in the Midwest. He was also selected as one of NASCAR’s 50 Greatest Drivers.
