IndyCar Series driver – and free agent – Danica Patrick visited Stewart-Haas Racing on Monday.

But don’t think that just because she showed up at the shop that she’s leaning toward driving for team co-owner Tony Stewart, who wasn’t at the shop because he was at a Goodyear tire test at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

“While Tony Stewart was not at the shop – he was at Atlanta Motor Speedway for the first of a two-day Goodyear tire test – he has known Danica for some time and has always been a supporter of her racing career,” Stewart-Haas Racing spokesman Mike Arning said in an e-mail. “Danica has had a standing invitation to visit Stewart-Haas Racing since Tony announced his intentions to become a driver/owner in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series a year ago. We simply facilitated a tour of the facility and introduced her to a handful of people who were at Stewart-Haas Racing.”

Patrick, who currently drives for Andretti Green Racing, has one win in her IndyCar career and finished third in the Indianapolis 500 in May. Her contract runs out at the end of this season, and she has mentioned NASCAR as a possible destination.
