NASCAR Sprint Cup team co-owner and SPEED analyst Michael Waltrip will return to the cockpit this weekend for the Toyota/SaveMart 350 on the Infineon Raceway road course.

Waltrip will make his fourth appearance of 2010 driving the No. 55 PRISM Motorsports Toyota, and this time it will be for a good cause. The No. 55 entry will sport a special paint scheme from the Toyota Racing “Sponsafy Your Ride Contest” and the grand prize winner, Fay Knape of Danbury, Texas.

Knape’s winning entry was one of more than 77,000 submitted in the contest. Her design was created in recognition of her 1-year-old grandson, Karson, who was born with Neuroendocrine Cell Hyperplasia in Infancy (NEHI), a rare lung disease. “Praying for Karson” features outdoor scenes in the hope Karson someday will play without the oxygen tank that he must wear to allow him to breathe.

“I have so much fun working with PRISM Motorsports, and this opportunity with Toyota and the ‘Sponsafy Your Ride Contest’ helps the team legitimize what they’re trying to do,” Waltrip said. “I’m thankful for Toyota and all they do for the fans, and this contest just shows once again how much Toyota appreciates those fans. I’m proud to represent Karson and his family and it’s really neat that we’ve brought to life a fan’s dream design.”

“PRISM Motorsports is very proud to be a part of the Sponsafy Your Ride Contest and we’re looking forward to Michael Waltrip getting back in the car,” said team co-owner Randy Humphrey. “This is a great opportunity for us to grow our organization and raise awareness about a great cause at the same time. Securing sponsorship for this season has been tough, so this opportunity with Toyota will give us a chance to really showcase the hard work our guys have been putting in all year long.”

PRISM Motorsports will also field the No. 66 Toyota Camry for Dave Blaney in this weekend’s race.
