Jeff Gordon may be 12th in the NASCAR Sprint Cup points standings, but he was No. 1 in Friday’s final Happy Hour round of practice for Sunday’s AAA 400 at Dover International Speedway.

Gordon lapped the 1-mile, high-banked concrete Dover oval at 155.743 miles per hour in his No. 24 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet, tops among the 48 cars that are entered in Sunday’s race.

Joey Logano was second, 154.586 mph in the first of the Joe Gibbs Toyotas. He was followed by Gordon’s teammate, Jimmie Johnson, at 154.579 mph. Kurt Busch and David Stremme completed the top five.

Brad Keselowski was sixth, then Scott Speed, Bobby Labonte, Kyle Busch and Regan Smith. Dale Earnhardt Jr. was 41st.
