Greg Biffle, searching for his first victory at Martinsville Speedway, got a boost Saturday in Happy Hour practice, leading the way with a speed of 95.641 miles per hour.

Following in the top five were Jeff Burton, Clint Bowyer, Jamie McMurray and Kevin Harvick.

The two major contenders for the Sprint Cup championship – Jimmie Johnson and Denny Hamlin – were very close in the final practice. Johnson was sixth on the speed chart, and Hamlin, who won the pole Friday, was eighth.

Kasey Kahne was 27th fastest as he prepares for his first start in the Red Bull Racing No. 83. Aric Almirola, replacing Kahne in the Richard Petty Motorsports No. 9, was ninth.

Sunday’s race, the final short-track event of the season, is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. (ET).
