No injuries were reported Friday after an engine undergoing testing exploded at Joe Gibbs Racing’s headquarters in Huntersville, N.C.

News reports indicated that an engine being tested on a dynamometer, a machine that puts engines through the stresses normally found in race-track use, exploded and caused a fire.

The fire was contained within the engine-testing area. Area firefighters responded to the call.

Work in other areas of the building resumed shortly after employees received the all-clear from safety workers.
