SPEED™ HALL OF FAME SPECIAL ON EARNHARDT TO INCLUDE RARELY SEEN 2001 INTERVIEW WITH DALE EARNHARDT JR.

SPEED will air a one-hour biography on Dale Earnhardt, seven-time champion and inductee to the inaugural NASCAR Hall of Fame class, Friday at 11 p.m. ET following NASCAR Camping World Truck Series coverage from Dover.

Brian Williams, a personal friend of Earnhardt’s and host of NBC Nightly News, will narrate the special that features a never-before-aired interview with Dale Earnhardt Jr. in the days following his father’s death in February 2001. The program also includes interviews with Richard Childress, Kevin Harvick, Brian France, Mike Helton, Tony Eury Sr. and Tony Eury Jr., as well as perspective from some of Earnhardt’s fans.

SPEED also has aired one-hour biographies on Bill France Sr., Bill France Jr., Junior Johnson and Richard Petty in the weeks leading up to the inaugural NASCAR Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on May 23 (live on SPEED beginning at 12 p.m. ET). These will replay consecutively May 23 from 7 a.m.-noon ET as part of SPEED’s NASCAR Hall of Fame biography marathon in the hours preceding the Induction Ceremony.
