Last year, David Ragan was one of the unexpected success stories in NASCAR.

This season, his has been a tale of disappointment.

On Friday, his team-owner announced that he was going to attempt to get the No. 6 UPS Ford Fusion rolling in the right direction once again.

In an effort to improve communication between Ragan and the engineering support group at Roush Fenway Racing, Jack Roush announced that Chris Andrews will be working with the team for the next five weeks.

Andrews, RFR’s Engineering Manager, has been with the organization for almost three years and will assess what changes may be necessary to benefit the team’s performance.

“I made the decision on Chris’ special assignment for the next five weeks after consulting with Robbie Reiser, our general manager, and the other RFR crew chiefs,” said Roush. “We arrived at the consensus for Chris to assist Jimmy (Fennig) and David with the application of our engineering tools to help with pre-weekend preparation and tuning at the track.”
