Carl Edwards, looking to continue his recent run of success, led the final round of practice Friday for Saturday night’s Air Guard 400 Sprint Cup race at Richmond International Raceway.

Edwards had a fast lap of 125.290 mph to lead the second of two sessions at the .75-mile track. Clint Bowyer, who led the first session, was 12th in the second as teams tinkered with setups in preparation for Friday evening qualifying.

Following Edwards in the top five in the second session were Paul Menard, Greg Biffle , Juan Pablo Montoya and Kasey Kahne.

In the second five were Tony Stewart, Kurt Busch, Kevin Harvick, David Reutimann and AJ Allmendinger.

Edwards is winless this season but is fifth in points and has come on strong in recent weeks. He has finished in the top seven in seven of the past eight races.
