If any doubt remained about the strength of Brian Vickers’ Toyota, he erased it Saturday morning.

For the second straight practice, Vickers ran to the top of the speed chart, leading Saturday morning’s 55-minute session for Sunday’s Tums Fast Relief 500 with a speed of 95.966 miles per hour.

Vickers led Friday’s opening practice at 97.679.

Following Vickers in the top five Saturday morning were Jeff Gordon, Juan Pablo Montoya, pole winner Jimmie Johnson and Kyle Busch.

In the second five were Clint Bowyer, Paul Menard, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kurt Busch and Martin Truex Jr.

Point leader Brad Keselowski was 27th, worst of the Chase drivers.

Denny Hamlin, third in points, was 11th in practice.
