NASCAR Sprint-Cup Series
CUP: Biffle Says Drivers are Worried About Talladega Superspeedway
Gregg Biffle and the other eleven Chase drivers know that Talladega is a wildcard race which could shake things up in the points standings.

Greg Biffle has traditionally been his best at the 1.5 and 2-mile tracks where horsepower and aerodynamics are most important - until the last two weekends, that is.

While the Roush Fenway Racing driver’s consecutive victories at the 1.058-mile New Hampshire and 1-mile Dover have vaulted him up through the standings and made him a formidable threat for the series title, the results have also done something else: convince Biffle that he need not fear Martinsville and Phoenix - the only non-1.5-mile tracks besides Talladega left among the final eight that will decide the 2008 champion.

“I mean, everybody is a little worried about Talladega,” Biffle said on Tuesday at Lowe’s Motor Speedway, where Sprint Cup Series drivers were testing in preparation for next month’s Bank of America 500.

“We know that’s kind of our wildcard race, sort of. Everybody has deemed it that way a little bit because there can be an accident that catches a bunch of cars up or what not, and they tend to get pretty hairy at the end – people pushing and shoving and all kinds of things happen – so that’s really the only one I’m concerned about at this point.

“I know that we can run up front and as long as we can keep our nose clean. I think we can at Talladega. I think we’re gonna have a good run.”
