Greg Biffle had a very fast lap, and Jimmie Johnson has a very fresh engine.

Biffle led Saturday morning’s first practice for Sunday’s Pure Michigan 400 at Michigan International Speedway with a speed of 200.362 miles per hour. He was the only driver over 200 in the 55-minute session.

Following in the top five were Kasey Kahne, Carl Edwards, Mark Martin and Dale Earnhardt Jr.

In the second five were Martin Truex Jr., Matt Kenseth, Regan Smith, Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin.

Series point leader Jimmie Johnson missed most of the practice as his Hendrick Motorsports team changed the engine in the No. 48 Chevrolet. He ran five laps.

Although Johnson qualified third Friday, he will start at the rear of the field Sunday because of the engine change.

Final Sprint Cup practice is scheduled from 11 to 11:55 a.m. SPEED will televise the session.
