B.R.A.K.E.S. which stands for Be Responsible and Keep Everyone Safe is a charity organization dedicated to promoting teen safe driving.

B.R.A.K.E.S., the charity organization dedicated to promoting teen safe driving, announces it’s partnership with SPEED’s hit television show “PINKS All Out™”. The 501(c)(3) foundation will aid the show in its effort to promote the public service message that racing should be taken off the streets and viewers should ‘take it to the track’.

“‘PINKS All Out’ has really taken off for SPEED, the show reaches thousands of drag racing fans across the country” said Doug Herbert, NHRA Top Fuel Driver and founder of B.R.A.K.E.S. “The producers at SPEED realize that with the show’s success comes a certain level of responsibility. They want to encourage grassroots racers, especially young drivers, to keep the racing at the race track and off the street. When they asked B.R.A.K.E.S. to help deliver that message I was thrilled,” Herbert added.

The foundation will have an at-track presence for tapings of the show, beginning with the April 25 event at zMAX Dragway. Representatives of B.R.A.K.E.S. will maintain a display booth throughout the two-day taping, allowing them to interact with fans in attendance and provide educational information about the dangers of street racing, specifically amongst young, inexperienced drivers.

“Having Doug and his B.R.A.K.E.S. program at several of our PINKS All Out shoots this season sends the right message,” said SPEED spokesperson Erik Arneson. “From the beginning, the PINKS franchise has highlighted the ‘take it to the track’ position and B.R.A.K.E.S. hammers home that message with a sincere, credible program aimed at younger drivers with the ultimate goal of keeping everyone safer on our roads.”

“Having ‘PINKS All Out™’ here in Charlotte will be awesome. I’m looking forward to being at the track, participating in the events and expressing to everyone out there how important it is to keep the racing at the race track,” said Herbert, who will make an exhibition pass in his 8,000-horsepower Top Fuel dragster as part of the weekend’s activities. “Many communities have suffered through tragedies as a result of street racing. The bottom line is that street racing is dangerous. If drivers have a need for speed and they want to race, they need to take it to the track.”
