SPEED™ READIES FOR COVERAGE OF TWO MAJOR NASCAR EVENTS LESS THAN 48 HOURS APART
NASCAR HALL OF FAME INDUCTION CEREMONY COVERAGE MONDAY AT 8 P.M. ET; ON HEELS OF NASCAR SPRINT ALL-STAR RACE COVERAGE
As the official television network of the NASCAR Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony (May 23, 8 p.m. ET) and NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race (May 21, 7 p.m. ET), SPEED is offering exclusive coverage of both events.
“Viewers will see today’s best-of-the-best go at it under the lights Saturday for a giant payday in the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race, and then, less than 48 hours later, some of the biggest names in NASCAR take their places in the NASCAR Hall of Fame,” said SPEED President Hunter Nickell. “What a great weekend for the sport and a great chance for SPEED to remind everyone why they first fell in love with the sport to begin with.”
Less than 48 hours after SPEED leaves the air Saturday with its live broadcast of the post-race show NASCAR Victory Lane at Charlotte, the network switches gears and heads to uptown Charlotte. Mike Joy hosts Induction Ceremony coverage with backstage hosting assistance from Krista Voda as Lee Petty, Bud Moore, Ned Jarrett, David Pearson and Bobby Allison are enshrined in the second class of the NASCAR Hall of Fame. NASCAR Race Hub (Mondays through Thursdays at 7 p.m. ET) sets the stage for the Induction Ceremony with live interviews and pre-event ceremonies from the Hall of Fame at 7 p.m. ET, and the network wraps up the special night with a 30-minute post-ceremony show.
SPEED will air encore one-hour biography specials on the five inductees Monday beginning at 2 p.m. ET with the Petty special, followed by the specials on Moore, Jarrett, Pearson and Allison.
The network will be live Tuesday, June 14 at 4 p.m. ET, when the NASCAR Hall of Fame announces the five newest members to be inducted in January 2012. A one-hour preview of the vote announcement airs at 3 p.m. ET, followed by full live coverage of the announcement.
